Auto Dimming Mirror: Operation: Notes
With ignition switch in RUN position, ignition 3 voltage is supplied through IGN 3 RR fuse to the inside rearview mirror. Inside rearview mirror uses 2 photocell sensors to determine light conditions in front of and behind vehicle. At night with automatic day-night feature enabled, as glare of headlights from behind increases, mirror gradually becomes darker absorbing glare. In daytime, mirror is in a normal state. With gear selector lever in Reverse position, back-up light supply voltage is supplied as an input to inside rearview mirror. Inside rearview mirror will gradually change to a normal state as a result of back-up light supply voltage input. Inside rearview mirror supplies a low reference circuit and a signal circuit to driver outside rearview mirror.
