Throttle Body Service
WARNING:
Turn OFF ignition before inserting fingers into throttle bore. Unexpected movement of throttle blade could cause personal injury.
CAUTION:
Do not use any solvent that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). This solvent may damage fuel system components.
- Disconnect air intake ducts from throttle body. Inspect throttle body bore and throttle valve plate for any deposits. It is necessary to open throttle valve in order to inspect all of the surfaces.
- Clean throttle body bore and throttle valve plate by using a clean shop towel with GM Top Engine Cleaner, (1052626 US; 993026 Canada) or AC-Delco Carburetor Tune-Up Conditioner, (X66-P), or an equivalent product.
- Connect air intake ducts to throttle body. Inspect for air leaks.
