Shift Control Boot/Adapter Plate (5-Speed): Removal

1. Remove the shift control knob/closeout boot. See SHIFT CONTROL KNOB/CLOSEOUT BOOT (5-SPEED)  .
2. Remove the sound insulator foam block from the console. See Figure .
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the shift control adaptor plate (2). See Fig 1 .
4. Position the electrical connector out of the way.
5. Remove the 2 bolts (2) attaching shift control assembly to shift control adaptor plate. See Fig 2 .
6. Remove the 4 nuts (1) securing shift control adaptor plate to tunnel reinforcement. See Fig 2 .
7. Remove shift control boot and adaptor plate assembly from the vehicle. See Fig 3 .
