Removal Procedure

- Remove the side rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door - 60/40 Right (E24, 40 Door) or Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door - 60/40 Right (E24, 60 Door) or Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door - 60/40 Left (E26, 40 Door) or Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door - 60/40 Left (E26, 60 Door) .
- Remove the hinged side window or the stationary side window. Refer to HINGED BODY SIDE WINDOW REPLACEMENT or BODY SIDE STATIONARY WINDOW REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the weatherstrips, if needed. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Side Door or Weatherstrip Replacement - Side Door Window .
- Remove the side rear door upper and lower door wedges from the door. Refer to Door Wedge Replacement - Sliding .
- Remove the upper and the lower door latches. Refer to Latch Replacement - Side Door Upper and Latch Replacement - Side Door Lower .
- Remove the latch rods from the door.
- Remove the latch handle. Refer to Latch Control Handle Replacement - Side Rear Door .
- Remove the latch striker. Refer to Striker Replacement - Door (w/o PRP) or Striker Replacement - Door (w/ PRP) .
- Remove the side rear door hinge pins using J 41226-50.
- Remove the side rear door from the vehicle.
