Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 .

  3. Remove upper I/P trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  4. Remove the I/P inflator module connector from the I/P structure.
  5. Remove the inflatable restraint I/P module nuts.
  6. Remove the inflatable restraint I/P module.
  7. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .
