Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2004 GMC Yukon XL, 2004 GMC Yukon, 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install the module wiring harness (2) to the seat frame (3) while guiding the wiring harness through the appropriate spots on the seat frame.
  2. Install the wiring harness retaining clips to the seat frame.

  4. Install the side impact module (1) to the seat frame.
  5. Install the side impact module retainer.
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Install the retaining bolts (3) to the side impact module.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the seat back cover. Refer toSeat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front (W/O ULT) or Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front (W/ULT) in Seats.
  9. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
  10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7  and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 .
