Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Cadillac CTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the trailing arm.
- Install the trailing arm to the frame mounting bolt and nut.
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 90 N.m (66 lb ft).
- Remove the support from the frame and raise the frame into position.
- Install the front bolts in the rear frame.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 265 N.m (195 lb ft).
- Install the trailing arm to the knuckle mounting bolt and nut.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 175 N.m (129 lb ft).
- Install the brake pipe bracket (2) to the mounting studs (1).
- Install the brake pipe bracket retaining nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Connect the lower control arm to the knuckle.
- Install the lower control arm to the knuckle mounting bolt.
Tighten: Tighten the lower control arm to the knuckle mounting bolt to 175 N.m (129 lb ft).
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
