Installation Procedure

  1. Install the trailing arm.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the trailing arm to the frame mounting bolt and nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 90 N.m (66 lb ft).

  5. Remove the support from the frame and raise the frame into position.

  7. Install the front bolts in the rear frame.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 265 N.m (195 lb ft).

  9. Install the trailing arm to the knuckle mounting bolt and nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 175 N.m (129 lb ft).

  11. Install the brake pipe bracket (2) to the mounting studs (1).
  12. Install the brake pipe bracket retaining nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  14. Connect the lower control arm to the knuckle.
  15. Install the lower control arm to the knuckle mounting bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the lower control arm to the knuckle mounting bolt to 175 N.m (129 lb ft).

  16. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  17. Lower the vehicle.
