Installation Procedure

- Remove any dirt, grease, or other impurities from the SDM mounting surface.
- Install the SDM (6) horizontally to the floor (2).
- Ensure the arrow on the SDM (6) points toward the front of the vehicle.
- Install the SDM mounting bolts (1).
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the SDM harness connector (2) to the SDM (1).
- Install the CPA (3) to the SDM wiring harness connector (2).
- Install the carpet to the floor.
- Install the passenger carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Replacement - Front in Interior Trim.
- Install the passenger seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 .
- Program the new SDM into the Dash Integration Module. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration (IPM) or Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration (DIM) in Body Control Systems.

IMPORTANT:
The AIR BAG indicator may remain ON after the SDM has been replaced. DTC B1001 may set requiring the SDM part number to be set in multiple modules. If the indicator remains ON after enabling the SIR system, perform the diagnostic system check and follow the steps thoroughly to ensure that the SDM is set properly.
