Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in Air Bag Restraint Systems.
  2. Remove the passenger side rear assist handle. Refer to ASSIST HANDLE REPLACEMENT  in Interior Trim.

  3. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to SEAT SYSTEM  in Seats.

  4. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to SEAT SYSTEM  in Seats.

  5. Remove the rear passenger seat belt retractor (4) Refer to SEAT BELT RETRACTOR REPLACEMENT - REAR  in Seat Belts.

  6. Remove the passenger side rear sail panel. Refer to SAIL PANEL REPLACEMENT  in Interior Trim.

    IMPORTANT: Release the passenger side center pillar trim garnish molding upper retainer.
  7. Carefully pull the upper center trim panel inward in order to allow clearance for the headliner.

  8. Carefully pull the passenger side of the headliner downward in order to release the center and rearward headliner roof magnets.
  9. Reach inward between the headliner and roof panel in order to release the sunroof control module clip (3) securing the control module (1) to the sunroof module assembly (2).

  10. With the clip (3) depressed, slide the control module toward the sunroof motor/actuator.
  11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  12. Remove the sunroof control module from the vehicle.
