Installation Procedure

  1. Route the wiring through the steering wheel.
  2. Align the splines on the steering wheel with the splines on the shaft.
  3. Install the steering wheel to the upper shaft.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE  in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the steering wheel retaining nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

  5. Connect the steering wheel electrical connector.
  6. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (DRIVER-SIDE) in Air Bag Restraint Systems.
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to ZONE 3 in Air Bag Restraint Systems.
