Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2004 GMC Sierra, 2004 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, 2004 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado, and 2003 GMC Sierra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Bend the brake pipe to achieve proper fit.

  3. Install the brake pipe to the vehicle. Maintain a clearance of 19 mm (3/4 in) for all moving or vibrating components.
  4. Install the brake pipe fasteners to the vehicle.
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Connect the brake pipe fittings.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the brake pipe fittings to the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) or the wheel jounce hoses to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
    • Tighten the brake pipe fittings to the master cylinder to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  7. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to ABS Automated Bleed Procedure in Antilock Brake System.
