Removal Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying Power Steering Return Hose

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 4.6L.
  2. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering reservoir.

  5. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.

  7. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolt.

  9. Remove the power steering pump from the vehicle.
  10. Remove the power steering pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement .
  11. Remove the power steering reservoir. Refer to Power Steering Reservoir Replacement - Off Vehicle .
