Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new gasket.
  2. Install the EGR valve.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the EGR valve retaining nuts/bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the retaining nuts/bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb. ft.).

  4. Install the heat shield and nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the retaining nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb. in.).

  5. Reconnect the EGR valve electrical connector.
