Installation Procedure

Position the surge tank (1) on the mounting studs.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the surge tank bolt (3).
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
Install the surge tank nuts (2).
Tighten: Tighten the nuts (2) to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
Position the surge tank outlet hose and the quick connect fitting with the surge tank and press to engage.
Verify the quick connect fitting is fully seated.

Install the secondary AIR relay bracket (1) over the studs.
Install the 2 secondary AIR relay bracket nuts (2).
Tighten: Tighten the nuts (2) to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

Connect the connector (2) to the coolant level sensor.

Connect the surge tank inlet hose (2) to the surge tank (1).
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
