Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect the output shaft (57) splines for burrs or damage. Inspect the snap rings (56) for overexpansion.

  2. Install the snap rings (56) onto the output shaft and install the output shaft (57) from the channel plate side of the transmission.
  3. Install the differential carrier. Refer to Differential Carrier Replacement .
  4. Install the left drive axle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (FE1, FE3) or Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (FE7) in Wheel Drive Shafts.
