Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the intermediate exhaust pipe. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  3. Remove the driveline tunnel closeout panel. Refer to Driveline Tunnel Closeout Panel Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
  4. Disconnect the shift control cable from the floor shift control ball stud 3.
  5. Lower the vehicle.

  6. Remove the shift control trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Console in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  7. Remove the center console assembly. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  8. Remove the electrical connector from the shift control assembly.

  9. Disconnect the wiring harness connector 1 from the shift lock control pigtail connector 2.

  10. Remove the nuts 3 securing the shift control assembly 1 to the tunnel reinforcement.
  11. Remove the shift control assembly from the tunnel reinforcement.
