Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the intermediate pipe assembly. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
- Remove the driveline closeout panel. Refer to Driveline Tunnel Closeout Panel Replacement In Propeller Shaft.
- Disconnect the shift control cable from the floor shift ball stud 3..
- Remove the retainer clip 1 securing the forward portion of the cable housing to the tunnel bracket 3.
- Remove the retaining clip 1 securing the rear portion of the cable housing 2 to the transmission bracket 3
- Remove the cable 2 assembly from the transmission bracket 3.
- Disconnect the shift control 1 from the transmission shift lever ball stud 2.
- Remove the shift control cable from the vehicle.
IMPORTANT:
Care should be used while handling the shift cable. The cable rod end guide tube is very unflexible.
