Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector C1 at the outside rearview mirror.
- Install a test lamp between the control circuit terminal 11 and the control circuit terminal 10.
- Ignition ON, commanded the mirror left and right using the mirror directional switch. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF as the mirror commanded to the left and right.
- If the test lamp does not turn ON and OFF when cycling between the commanded states, test both control circuit for a short to voltage, a short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the applicable door switch.
- Ignition OFF, install a test lamp between the control circuit terminal 10 and the control circuit terminal 9.
- Ignition ON, commanded the mirror up and down using the mirror directional switch. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF as the mirror commanded up and down.
- If the test lamp does not turn ON and OFF when cycling between the commanded states, test both control circuit for a short to voltage, a short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the applicable door switch.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the outside rearview mirror motor.
