Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump to power steering bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement (LH2)  or Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement (LY7) .
  2. Install the power steering pump with bracket to the vehicle.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the power steering bracket to the engine bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  4. Install the power steering pump to the engine mounting bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.

  6. Connect the power steering reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
  7. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  8. Install the power steering pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement .
  9. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 4.6L (LH2) engine.
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  11. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
