Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, verify that the SOD indicators located in the outside rear view mirrors illuminate briefly for a system self test when the ignition is turned ON.
- If the SOD indicators do not illuminate briefly for a self test and the DIC displays SIDE BLIND ZONE OFF, the SOD system has been turned OFF by the driver from the DIC and is operating as intended.

If the SOD indicator(s) does not illuminate briefly for a self test, refer to One or Both SOD Indicator(s) Inoperative.

If both SOD indicators stay ON after the self test, and the DIC displays SERVICE SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT SYSTEM refer to SOD Indicators Stays On After Self Test.

If both SOD indicators stay ON after the self test, and the DIC displays CLEAN SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT SYSTEM, refer to Diagnostic Aids .
