Removal Procedure

  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  2. Remove the front compartment sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement .
  3. Release the brake clips from the vehicle front frame (1).

  5. Release the brake pipe clips (1) from the right side engine compartment side rail.

  7. Remove the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly bracket bolt (1).
  8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  9. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  10. Remove the right front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  11. Remove the washer solvent container fasteners and position the washer solvent container aside. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement (With CE4) or Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement (Without CE4) .

  13. Remove the BPMV bracket nuts (1).
  14. Carefully lift the BPMV assembly from the bracket studs.

  16. Carefully lift the BPMV and bracket assembly (1) from the studs on the vehicle frame to access the BPMV bolt.

    Support the BPMV with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent.

  18. Remove the BPMV bolt (1).

  20. Remove the BPMV bracket from the BPMV (1).
  21. Inspect the BPMV bracket insulator for damage and replace, if necessary.
