Installation Procedure

  1. Thoroughly clean any locking compound residue and debris from the inner surface of the wheel speed sensor reluctor ring with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
  2. Apply Loctite® GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or equivalent to the inner portion of the wheel speed sensor reluctor (2).
  3. Insert the wheel speed sensor reluctor (2) onto the hub assembly.
  4. Install the ring (1) of the J 44253  onto the wheel speed sensor reluctor. See Special Tools .

  5. Insert the J 44253  (1). See Special Tools .
    6. NOTE: Turn the J 44253  until it just touches the ring of the J 44253  . See Special Tools .
  6. Turn the J 44253  (1) to thread the wheel speed sensor reluctor. See Special Tools .
  7. Install the wheel speed sensor. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (FE1, FE3) or Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (FE7) .
