Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .

  1. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel door (Sedan,Coupe). Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan) , Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe)

    or the body side lower trim panel (Wagon). Refer to Body Side Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Wagon)

  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Coupe) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Sedan,Wagon)

  3. Disconnect the positive battery cable by turning the handle (2) on the battery positive post.
  4. Disconnect the battery vent hose.

  5. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolts (1) and the battery hold down retainers (2).
  6. Remove the battery (3) from the vehicle.
