Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Coupe) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Sedan, Wagon) .
  2. Remove the left catalytic convertor. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LSA) , Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LFW,LFX) .
  3. Remove the left exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Left Side (LSA) .
  4. Remove the mounting bolt for the knock sensor 1.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector of the knock sensor from the engine harness (3).
  6. Remove the knock sensor (2) from the engine block (4).
