Installation Procedure

  1. Position the front lower control arm (2) on the vehicle.
  2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

    NOTE:
    • Start all front lower control arm fasteners by hand before tightening to specification to aid in installation.
    • Use a suitable support to bring the front lower control arm and front suspension to the proper trim height before tightening any fasteners.
  3. Install the NEW front lower control arm front bolt (5) and OLD nut (4) and tighten the bolt to 70 N.m (52 lb ft) + 75-90 degrees.
  4. Install the NEW steering knuckle bolt (1) and OLD nut (3) and tighten the nut to 115 N.m (85 lb ft) + 120-135 degrees.

  6. Install the NEW front lower control arm rear bolts (2) and OLD nuts (1) and tighten the bolts to 70 N.m (52 lb ft) + 75-90 degrees.
  7. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
