Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW exhaust gasket to the turbocharger and position the catalytic converter to the engine.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install NEW exhaust manifold studs (2) and tighten to 25 (18 lb ft).
  3. Install NEW catalytic converter nuts (1) and tighten to 50 (37 lb ft) .

  4. Install the catalytic converter heat shield (2) and tighten the fasteners (1) to 10 (89 lb in) .

  5. Install the transmission fastener (1) and tighten to 58 (43 lb ft).
  6. Install the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LF3) .
  7. Install the heated oxygen sensor. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 1 (LF3) .
  8. Install the turbocharger wastegate actuator vacuum tank. Refer to Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Tank Replacement (LF3) .
  9. Start the engine and check for exhaust leaks.
