Installation Procedure
- Install the following components if fuel tank replacement was necessary:
- Fuel tank fuel pump module. Refer to Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module Replacement
- Use a suitable jack and install the fuel tank (1).
- Install the fuel tank straps (2).
- Install the fuel tank strap bolts (1) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Connect the fuel tank electrical connector.
- Install the filler pipe and tighten the hose clamps (1).
- Connect the evaporative emission and fuel pipes (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Install the two piece propeller shaft. Refer to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (LT4, LTG)
- Install the transmission fluid cooler pipe mid line right and mid line left. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT4 With M5U, Rear Differential Inlet Hose) and/or Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT4 With M5U, Rear Differential Outlet Hose)
- Install the left rear suspension bracket. Refer to Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement (Front) and Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement (Rear)
- Install the left and right side rear air deflectors. Refer to Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Left Side and Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Right Side
- Refill the fuel tank.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
