Installation Procedure

  1. Install Front Lower Control Arm (2)
  2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

    NOTE:
    • Start all front lower control arm fasteners by hand before tightening to specification to aid in installation.
    • Use a suitable support to bring the front lower control arm and front suspension to the proper trim height before tightening any fasteners.
  3. Install the NEW front lower control arm front bolt (5) and OLD nut (4) and tighten the bolt.

    Tighten

    1. Tighten the bolt a first pass to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the bolt a final pass an additional (75-90 degrees).
  4. Install the NEW steering knuckle bolt (1) and OLD nut (3) and tighten the nut.

    Tighten

    1. Tighten the bolt a first pass to 115 N.m (85 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the bolt a final pass an additional (120-135 degrees).

  6. Install the NEW front lower control arm rear bolts (2) and OLD nuts (1) and tighten the bolts.

    Tighten

    1. Tighten the bolt a first pass to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the bolt a final pass an additional (75-90 degrees).
  7. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  8. Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Wheel Alignment Measurement
