Condition  A vehicle may be brought to the dealer with a message "Service Front Camera" or "Service Driver Assist". Upon inspection of the vehicle it may be found that all active safety system functions including adaptive cruise control and (LKA) lane keep assist appear to work as designed or it may be found that LKA or adaptive cruise control are inoperative. It may be noted that the LKA indicator in the DIC does not come on. There may be no DTC's stored for the FVCM systems.
Cause  Loss of low speed communication to the K124 ASCM (Active Safety Control Module) or the B174W Front View Camera Module (FVCM)

CORRECTION

Verify that the B174W FVCM is communicating on the low speed bus and if the vehicle is equipped with UGN also verify that the K124 ASCM is communicating on the low speed bus.

To confirm communication connect the data bus diagnostic tool to the vehicle, select the "detected state" tab and select "DLC terminal 1". Look through the list of communicating modules and ensure that the B174W and K124 (if equipped with UGN) are both on the list.

If it is found that the K124 ASCM is not communicating on low speed (with UGN) inspect circuit 5060 for an open in the harness near JX300.

On Blazer JX300 is located at the base of the B pillar.

On Acadia JX300 is located on the floor near the driver seat.

If an open is found repair the circuit following SI Serial Data Circuit Wiring Repairs.

If it is found that the B174W FVCM is not communicating on low speed, inspect X203 at the base of the A pillar for bent, loose or backed out terminals.

If both modules are communicating on low speed follow SI for diagnosis of concern.
