Removal Procedure

  1. Apply the parking brake and place the transmission control assembly in the Park position.
  2. Remove the battery tray. Battery Tray Replacement
  3. Remove Automatic Transmission Range Selector Actuator Hardware Module Automatic Transmission Range Selector Actuator Hardware Module Replacement

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the Transmission Control Module/Park Neutral Position switch (TCM/PNP) assembly (5).
    5. WARNING:

    Hold the transmission range selector coupling while removing or installing the coupling retaining nut. Failure to hold the coupling can cause damage to the transmission internal park system components which could allow the vehicle to roll when placed in the park position.

  5. Remove the TCM/PNP coupling nut (1) and coupling (2).
  6. Remove the TCM/PNP bolts (4) then remove the TCM/PNP assembly (5).
