Installation Procedure

  1. Install the battery positive and negative cable into the vehicle and place into position.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the battery positive cable terminal (1) to the B + generator stud (4) and tighten the fastener (2) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
  4. Install the protective cap (3).

  6. Connect the engine wiring harness connector (1) to the battery positive and negative cable connector (2).

  8. Connect the battery positive cable terminal (1) to the starter solenoid stud and tighten the fastener (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  9. Connect the battery positive cable connector (3) to the starter solenoid.
  10. Position the starter (4) into position on the bell housing.

  12. Install the starter mounting fasteners (1) and tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)

  14. Install the battery positive cable conduit bracket (3) to the starter solenoid (2) and tighten the fastener (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  16. Install the starter heat shield into position on the starter (2) with the retaining clip (1).

  18. Install the starter heat shield fastener (1) and tighten to 4.7 N.m (42 lb in)

  20. Install the battery negative cable terminal (1) to the engine block and tighten the fastener (2) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  21. Install the battery positive and negative cable bracket to the transmission stud and tighten the fastener (4) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  23. Install Radiator Outlet Hose (2) @Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Pipe Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LF3)

  25. Install the battery positive and negative cable bracket (2) to the transmission stud and tighten the fastener (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  27. Install Battery Negative Cable (2)
  28. Install Battery Negative Cable Fastener (1) and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
