Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

  3. Remove the heat shield fastener (1) and heat shield (2) from the starter.
  4. Remove the front compartment air deflector. Refer to Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Right)Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Left) .
  5. Disconnect the knock sensor connector.

  7. Remove the battery positive fastener (1) and the engine harness connector (2), from the starter solenoid (3).

  9. Remove the starter motor fasteners (1).
  10. Remove the starter motor (2).
