Installation Procedure

    If you are replacing the battery with a serviced NEW battery, detach the vent plug (1), that comes with the positive post cover.

    Install the vent plug (1), opposite side of the battery vent hose (2).

    Battery (1) - Install

    Battery Vent Tube (2) - Engage

  5. Battery Hold Down Retainer (3) - Install
    6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  6. Battery Hold Down Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

    Spare Wheel Carrier Bracket (2) - Install

  8. Spare Wheel Stowage Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

    Battery Positive Cable (3) - Install

  10. Battery Positive Post Clamp Nut (1) - Tighten 4.5 N.m (40 lb in)
  11. Battery Positive Post Cover (2) - Install
  12. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    Spare Tire (2) - Install

  14. Spare Tire Stowage Retainer (1) - Hand tighten
  15. Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim - Install - Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim Replacement
