Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Preliminary Procedure

1. Raise and properly support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (CTS) .
2. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (AWD) , or Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (RWD) .
3. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (LTG) , or Starter Replacement (LTG with KL9) .

Procedure

1. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the crankshaft position sensor.
2. If installing a new sensor, perform the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure. Refer to Crankshaft Position Variation Learn .
