Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: M97 Fuel Tank Filler Door Lock Actuator
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Control circuit terminal 1 & Control circuit terminal 2
- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Operate the component: S13D Door Lock Switch - Driver - Lock Switch & Unlock Switch
Verify the test lamp state:
S13D Door Lock Switch - Driver - Not Pressed = Test lamp Off
Lock Switch - Pressed = Test lamp On
Unlock Switch - Pressed = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always OFF
- Ignition OFF, remove the test lamp, disconnect the harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal listed below and ground:
- control 2679
- control 2689
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal listed below end to end:
- control 2679
- control 2689
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, refer to: Power Door Locks Malfunction
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Ignition OFF, remove the test lamp, disconnect the harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module, ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal listed below and ground:
- control 2679
- control 2689
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, refer to: Power Door Locks Malfunction
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Test or replace the component: M97 Fuel Tank Filler Door Lock Actuator
NOTE:
The fuel filler door must be opened to perform the electrical diagnostic procedure, if the fuel filler door lock actuator will not Unlock refer to: Opening the Fuel Tank Filler Door when the Door Lock Malfunctions for the appropriate procedure.
