Adding Keys (Without SPS)

NOTE:
- To initiate, this procedure requires that 2 learned keys be available. If attempted with only 1 key, the procedure will fail and all keys will be lost requiring reprogramming using the Replacing Keys procedure.
- A total of eight keys maybe be learned to a single vehicle.
- This procedure adds keys only. The procedure does not erase previously learned keys.
- The keys to be learned must duplicate the mechanical cut of the current key.
- Place both recognized keys in the vehicle cupholder.
- Insert the mechanical key of the new key into the key lock cylinder located on the outside of the driver door and turn the key to the unlock position five times within ten seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display Ready For Remote #2, 3, 4 or 5.
- Place the new key into the key pocket.
- Press the ignition mode switch. When the key is learned the DIC will indicate that it is ready to program the next key.
- Remove the key from the key pocket and press the unlock button. To program additional keys, repeat Steps 3 through 5.
- When all additional keys are programmed, press and hold the ignition mode switch for 5 seconds to exit programming mode.
NOTE:
The key slot in vehicles without bucket seats is located inside the front center seat at the rear of the storage compartment. The key slot in vehicles with bucket seats is located in the center console between the two cup holders..
