Digital Map Module Map Update: Notes
NOTE:
- USB File transfer DOES NOT REQUIRE a USB memory stick. The EL-50334-14 (USB cable) connects the computer directly into the K179 Digital Map Control Module.
- Digital Map Control Module - USB File Transfer is required when K179 Digital Map Control Module is replaced or if DTC B126B Map Data Programming is set.
- Access the X444 connector that is ran to the K179 Digital Map Control Module. Refer to Automated Driving Mapping Module Replacement for getting access to the X444 connector.NOTE:
There is a X444 connector ran to the K179 Digital Map Control Module. There is no need to remove the third row seating to gain access to the K179 Digital Map Control Module. The X444 connector is under the Rear Compartment Floor Stowage Rear Compartment shown in the Automated Driving Mapping Module Replacement . Once the Rear Compartment Floor Stowage Rear Compartment is removed the X444 connector will be tapped to the main harness inside the quarter trim panel.
- Connect EL-50334-50 (USB adapter) into the K179 Digital Map Control Module X444 connector and computer in rear compartment.
- Install EL-49642 SPS Programming Support Tool.
- Verify the Digital Map Control Module Clock Status and GPS Accuracy scan tool information is VALID. If the displayed value is not VALID, drive the vehicle with a clear view of the sky for 5 minutes (no building obstructions and a clear line of site to the sky).
- Access the Service Programming System (SPS) and follow the on-screen instructions.
- On the SPS Supported Controllers screen, select K179 Digital Map Control Module - USB File Transfer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- At the end of programming, choose the "Clear All DTCs" function on the SPS screen.
- Road test the vehicle with a clear view of the sky for 5 minutes (no building obstructions and a clear line of site to the sky).
- Verify no DTCs have set.
NOTE:
If the computer does not have a connection for the EL-50334-50 (USB adapter) use a suitable USB adapter at the computer.
