Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to remove the push-in retainers (1) from both air inlet grille panel extensions (2).

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

    Using the appropriate trim tool, remove the windshield wiper arm finish caps (1) from the windshield wiper arms (3).

  6. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]
  7. Use the J-39822  Wiper Arm Puller to remove both wiper arms (3) from the wiper motor pivot shafts.

    Front Compartment Sight Shield Retainer (1) - Release [6x]

  9. Front Compartment Rear Access Cover (2) - Remove

    Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to remove the push-in retainers (1) from right side air inlet grille panel (2).

  16. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Remove [4x]
  17. Windshield Washer Nozzle Hose @ Windshield Washer Nozzle Extension Hose - Disconnect

    Air Inlet Grille Panel - Right Side (2) - Remove

  19. Reposition the inside rearview mirror.

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  21. Separate the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover insert (1) from the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover.

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

    Disconnect all electrical connectors.

  26. Inside Rearview Mirror Bolt (1) - Remove
  27. NOTE:

    Slide the inside rearview mirror off the mirror mount.

  28. Inside Rearview Mirror (2) - Remove

    Disconnect the headlamp automatic control ambient light sensor wiring harness connector (1) from the headliner wiring harness connector.

  30. Unclip the windshield outside moisture/ambient light and humidity sensor (3) from the inside rear view mirror bracket and lower.
  31. Disconnect the headlamp automatic control ambient light sensor wiring harness connector (2) from the windshield outside moisture/ambient light and humidity sensor (3).
  32. Windshield Outside Moisture/Ambient Light and Humidity Sensor (3) - Remove and DISCARD

    NOTE:

    Observe the mounting and location of the front view camera to ensure proper reinstallation.

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  34. Release the retaining tabs.
  35. Slide the front view camera (1) upward to release.
  36. Front View Camera (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Do NOT remove or service the sensor farm pins.

    Front View Driver Information Camera Bracket (1) - Remove

  38. Release the front view driver information camera bracket (1) retaining tabs and slide the bracket upward to disengage the sensor farm pins.
  39. Gently pull the front view driver information camera bracket (1) away from the windshield.
  40. Cover to protect the following parts from broken glass:
    • Upper Dash Pad
    • The defroster outlets and A/C outlets
    • The seats and carpeting

    NOTE:

    NOTE:

    Apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces.

    Using the appropriate tool, lift up the windshield reveal moldings (1) to remove from the windshield flange.

  42. Windshield Reveal Molding (1) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE:

    Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window.

    Use commercially available glass cutting tool.

    • Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange.
    • The only suitable lubrication is clear water.
