Engine RPM Reference
The "R" terminal of the HEI module is used to send engine RPM signals to ECM.
NOTE:
More sensors are used by the ECM to control engine performance and other systems. Refer to "GENERAL MOTORS COMPUTER COMMAND CONTROL SYSTEM" in Computerized Engine Controls section for more information.
