Water Temperature Gauge: Notes
- Disconnect Yellow/White wire lead wire at sending unit located on intake manifold. Ground lead wire using a test lamp. Turn ignition switch on. Verify test lamp is on and gauge needle fluctuates several seconds after. If needle is inactive, proceed to step 2) for gauge testing.
- To test gauge, use an ohmmeter to measure gauge coil. connect probes across temperature gauge terminals on back of instrument cluster. Reading should be 55 ohms. If readings are correct, disconnect temperature gauge sending unit lead wire connector and turn ignition switch on. Using a DC voltmeter, confirm lead wire (Yellow/White) is supplied with 2-7 volts.
