Engine Compression
CAUTION:
DO NOT add oil to cylinders during compression check as extensive engine damage will result.
- Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Remove sensing resistor, glow plug connector, glow plugs and fuel cut solenoid.
- Disconnect fusible link wire from Quick Start Silent Idling (QSSI) controller at the connector. Install Adapter (J-26999 20) and compression gauge into glow plug hole. Crank engine and note compression reading. Repeat for each cylinder.
