Removal & Installation - A/T: Automatic: Spectrum: Removal
- Disconnect negative cable at battery. Remove air intake hose from air cleaner. Disconnect shift cable and speedometer cable from transaxle. Disconnect vacuum hose at vacuum diaphragm.
- Disconnect engine wiring harness clamp at transaxle. Disconnect ground cable and kickdown solenoid wire connector at transaxle.
- Disconnect and plug transaxle cooler lines. Remove 3 upper transaxle-to-engine attaching bolts. Raise and support vehicle. Remove both front wheels. Remove splash shield at left front fender.
- Disconnect both tie rod ends at steering knuckle. Remove tension strut from lower control arm. Disengage both axle shafts from transaxle. Remove drive plate dust cover. Support engine from above.
- Remove converter-to-drive plate attaching bolts. Remove transaxle rear mount through bolt. Disconnect starter motor. Support transaxle. Remove lower transaxle-to-engine attaching bolts. Lower and remove transaxle from vehicle.
