Fuel Gauge: Notes
- Disconnect negative battery cable and remove rear seat. Disconnect Yellow/Red wire at sending unit. Ground Yellow/Red wire using a test light. Turn ignition on. Bulb should light and gauge pointer should fluctuate after a few seconds.
- If gauge does not fluctuate, remove fuel gauge for testing. Attach ohmmeter leads across "FU" and "E" terminals on back of instrument panel at fuel gauge. See Figure .
- Resistance should be 55 ohms. If resistance is within specification, reconnect fuel gauge connection. Ensure 2-7 volts are supplied to Yellow/Red wire with ignition on.
