Clutch Assembly: Installation

On LeMans models, use a press to apply enough force to pressure fingers so that three Pressure Spring Clamps (J 36554 ) can be applied at 120 degree intervals. On all models, position clutch disc and pressure plate on flywheel and support.
On LeMans models, clutch disc is installed with long part of hub facing transaxle. On Spectrum and Sprint, clutch disc is installed with damper springs toward transaxle.
On all models, install pressure plate bolts and tighten evenly until tight to avoid possible clutch distortion. Lightly lubricate release bearing sliding surfaces and input shaft with grease. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation.
