Test Q, Function Select Switch Test

  1. Unplug telltale assembly connector from instrument cluster. Locate wire terminal of function that does not operate correctly. Measure resistance between terminal and Black wire with switch being tested in off position.
  2. If resistance is 0 (zero) ohms, replace faulty switch or entire telltale assembly. If resistance is infinite (open circuit), go to step 3).
  3. Ensure ohmmeter is connected between suspected faulty switch terminal and Black wire (B1). Hold suspect switch in position to select desired function.
  4. If resistance is infinite ohms, replace faulty switch or entire telltale assembly. If resistance is 0 (zero) ohms, replace instrument cluster.
