Removal (All Models)

  1. Raise window to fully upward. Tape glass to door frame to prevent it from falling. Disconnect battery negative cable. Remove trim panel pull strap (if equipped). Remove armrest, trim panel, armrest bracket and water deflector.
  2. Disconnect wiring harness from power window motor. Drill out motor attaching rivets using a 3/16" drill bit. Remove motor. Push regulator forward, then slide it rearward to remove regulator arms from sash and rail. See Figure .
    WARNING: Window regulator lift arm is under tension from counterbalance spring. Sector gear must be locked to avoid personal injury.
  3. Fold regulator arms and remove through access hole in door. Drill hole through sector gear and backplate. See Figure for sector gear and backplate locations. DO NOT drill hole closer than 1/2" to edge of sector gear or backplate.
  4. Install a 3/4" long sheet metal screw into hole to lock sector gear. Sector gear must be locked to avoid personal injury. Drill out motor attaching rivets using a 3/16" drill bit. Remove motor.
