Code A016, Enable Relay Coil Circuit Open: Notes

Ignition voltage is supplied through terminal No. 5 of enable relay. EBCM energizes enable relay pull-in coil by completing ground circuit at EBCM terminal No. 22. The magnetic field created will close enable relay contacts to supply battery voltage to EBCM, providing power to motors and solenoids.

This code checks for open in enable relay coil circuit. An open in this circuit will prevent enable relay from being energized and voltage from reaching motors and solenoids.

1. Determines if EBCM is capable of controlling enable relay.
2. Checks for voltage at pull-in coil of enable relay.
3. Checks for continuity through pull-in coil of enable relay.
