Code A087, Red Brake Warning Light Circuit Open: Notes

This code verifies EBCM has continuity to Red BRAKE warning light. Because parking brake and low fluid level sensor also use this circuit, a short to ground cannot be detected.

1. Determines if fault is still present.
2. Indicates if EBCM and circuit has ability to complete ground to Red BRAKE warning light.
3. Tests for circuit completion to instrument cluster.
4. Determines if open circuit is due to EBCM failure or BRAKE warning light circuit failure.
