Code A096, BRAKELIGHT Circuit Open: Notes

This code is used to identify cause of Code A095 failure and indicate to driver ABS is still available. If Code A095 appears with Code A096, then either brake lights are open, brake light ground is open, or ABS brake input resistor is open during 4-way flasher operation. Battery voltage at brake switch input indicates a valid brake switch input is still available.

1. A Code A096 may set due to other brake switch circuit malfunctions. If any other codes are present, proceed to that code first.
2. Confirms that fault is currently present in brake circuit.
