Code 45 - Left Front Solenoid Valve: Notes

Power to wheel solenoid valve circuits are supplied from battery when ignition is on. Valve functions are controlled by EBCM which permits one of 3 levels of current flow (0, 2.5 or 5 amps) to solenoid.

SERVICE ABS and SERVICE ASR indicator lights will illuminate, valve relay will be turned off and Code 45 will be set if a discrepancy is sensed by EBCM, such as an open or ground in circuit.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to circled numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Measures resistance in left front solenoid valve circuitry.
  2. Checks for short to battery voltage in circuit No. 826.
  3. Checks for short to ground in circuit No. 826.
  4. Checks for a wiring or connector problem which could cause intermittent condition.
  5. Test uses Tech 1 "Scan" tester to check left front solenoid valve operation.
  6. Determines if problem is set by intermittent condition or an EBCM fault.
  7. Determines if problem found in step 1) is due to hydraulic modulator or an open in circuit No. 826.
