Code 45 - Left Front Solenoid Valve: Notes
Power to wheel solenoid valve circuits are supplied from battery when ignition is on. Valve functions are controlled by EBCM which permits one of 3 levels of current flow (0, 2.5 or 5 amps) to solenoid.
SERVICE ABS and SERVICE ASR indicator lights will illuminate, valve relay will be turned off and Code 45 will be set if a discrepancy is sensed by EBCM, such as an open or ground in circuit.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to circled numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Measures resistance in left front solenoid valve circuitry.
- Checks for short to battery voltage in circuit No. 826.
- Checks for short to ground in circuit No. 826.
- Checks for a wiring or connector problem which could cause intermittent condition.
- Test uses Tech 1 "Scan" tester to check left front solenoid valve operation.
- Determines if problem is set by intermittent condition or an EBCM fault.
- Determines if problem found in step 1) is due to hydraulic modulator or an open in circuit No. 826.
